Troubleshooting
LinkedIn account disconnected
Why LinkedIn accounts disconnect, and exactly what to do about it.
LinkedIn sessions expire. This happens to every account eventually — typically every few weeks, and sooner if you log in from a new device, change your password, or complete a security check.
It is not a sign anything is wrong.
What happens automatically
When your account disconnects, Updately:
- marks the account Disconnected
- pauses the campaigns using that account
- turns off your signals
That's deliberate. Continuing to attempt actions with a dead session is exactly the behaviour that gets accounts restricted.
Nothing is deleted. Your campaigns, contacts, message history, and lists are all untouched.
How to reconnect
- Go to the LinkedIn section of the app.
- Click Add Account (or Reconnect on the disconnected account).
- Log in to LinkedIn on the page that opens. Any security checks or 2FA prompts are handled there.
- You'll be returned to Updately with the account showing as active.
Then turn your campaigns and signals back on. Reconnecting restores the account, but it does not resume what was paused. Until you switch them back on, everything will look healthy and nothing will send.
Go through:
- Each campaign that was running → set it back to active
- Your signals → re-enable the ones you want running
Confirming it worked
The account should show as connected and active. Your campaigns should show Active, not Paused. If a campaign still says paused, it hasn't been resumed yet.
If it keeps disconnecting
Frequent disconnects usually mean something is invalidating your LinkedIn session repeatedly:
- Logging in and out of LinkedIn on other devices or browsers
- Another automation tool running on the same account
- A VPN or location that changes often, which LinkedIn treats as suspicious
Running a second LinkedIn automation tool alongside Updately is the most common cause, and also the riskiest for your account.
